Well finally I "read" extremis. I couldn't remember the site Cliff mentioned so I watched the motion comic on Hulu. Now I loved both the movie and the comic. There were distinct differences between both but I would have to go with the movie in terms of favorites. However, I think the writers should have added more from the comic. I believe the adaptation is loose the writers kept some aspects and changed the rest. The Mandarin was an interesting twist and I loved that they added that. And keeping Dr. Krillian alive was an interesting twist however I think they should have left him dead. He was, in my mind to, cliche a villain. Though there was something bothering me from the comic. Wasn't it mentioned that 2 vials were taken? That they had tree vials of extremis? Was I misunderstanding something? If there was really three what happened to the other vial? If so maybe I will start reading the comics I'm curious as to what Tony will face in the future now that he is truly Iorn Man.
Interesting about the 3rd vial, ill have to look that up as well. Other than that I agree with most of what you said too.
ReplyDeleteI agree with you about the Mandarin. It was an interesting twist that was not needed, but added more mystery to the story. And about Tony being truly Iron Man, I am curious to see where it goes from there as well.
ReplyDeleteOh and your Blog title is funny, its IRON MAN,,, not IORN MAN,,, silly!!!
ReplyDeleteI agree with you, Brianna. I do also like the addition of Mandarin to the film version; however, as I posted on Kevin's blog, I think they took that subtext from the Maya character in the graphic novel and as a result, it decreased the emotional impact of Tony being betrayed by her. But then again, just like Austin and Cliff said, you have to have the Pepper in there for eye-candy, so I guess that development in the relationship between Maya and Tony had to be diminished. Whatever!!! ;-)
